The influence of soil acidity on the availability of nutrients
Increased soil acidity reduces the yield of primary crops, and the efficiency of nitrogen and/or water-soluble phosphorus mineral fertilizers is reduced by 15-80%.
Phosphate rock powder (in FERTIMark) ensures the availability of phosphorus nutrition to plants at any pH. The more acidic the soil, the faster the phosphate rock is converted into a form available to plants. For slightly acidic and neutral soils, phosphate rock powder is combined with increased levels of ammonium sulfate and/or potassium chloride, which, even in a neutral environment, create a short-term acidifying effect, converting phosphate rock into a form available to plants 2-3 times faster.
